Steam Clean and Restoration is a family oriented, tight-knit group of professional individuals who always strive for the best. Originally founded as “Steamatic” in 1968 by Doug Roland and his wife Sharon, the business began as a two-person operation. Doug Roland's entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with his slogan "Call Doug For A Clean Rug®" that resonated from his days of selling vacuum cleaners, laid the foundation for the success.

 

In 2000, Darrel purchased the business and owned and operated the business for 25 years. During the transition to the second generation of the Roland family, the business continued to thrive under the stewardship of Darrel Roland and Curtis Roland, along with daughter-in-law Diane and grandson Brad Roland. Darrel has been an integral part of the business since 1975, ascending through the ranks from assistant to lead technician, service representative, and eventually general manager. Throughout the years, the business attracted dedicated employees who became part of the family and represent the trust, transparency, and commitment that is provided to team members and customers. 

 

In 2025, Darrel and Diane finally took the leap into a well-deserved retirement, selling the business to longtime Wichitans Eric Payne and Jack Meyers. Now, under the name “Steam Clean and Restoration”, the generational familial team continues with legacy employees including Bradley Roland, grandson to Doug Roland, serving Wichita and its surrounding areas with steam cleaning and restoration services. As a locally owned business for over 50 years, Eric and Jack honor the legacy that is “Call Doug for a Clean Rug®” while looking to the future – shaping the business with new service offerings, branding and marketing that cut through the clutter, and investing in a team that Wichita counts on to keep their homes and businesses clean.
